Weirdly his name came up in conversation today as did the SPG.
Anyone still remember the fuss when he died?
Should we bring back a slightly dumbed down version of the SPG due to the out of hand crime and no go areas in London?

Apparently Professor Alan Murray said he believed he was 'Officer E', he's now a 'lecturer in Accounting and Corporate Responsibility'.
He was an Inspector in the SPG at the time and the Met Police own report into it said he was “young and forceful”, lied to investigators, and refused to participate in identity parades, He denies killing him though.
Funnily enough, he doesn't mention he's involvement with the SPG on his academic CV?

TBH personally I would welcome a part of the police force no hindered by human rights/left wing watchers and PC cunts.
No one is scared by the old bill anymore hence all the knife crime in London/Birmingham.
If you dont break the law and act like a gangster then you have nothing to worry about.
I dont recall SPG ever having to get involved with football violence in 70's/80's ,just civial unrest .

I was at the battle of Lewisham and the Met was a different beast then.
They went out to hurt people and were, most definitely, not about keeping the peace.

The SPG probably didn't intend murdering anyone.
They just wanted to hurt people more than their standard kit was capable of doing, and didn't factor in the natural variation in the degree of force the human skull is capable of withstanding.
Manslaughter is probably more appropriate than murder, and certainly more appropriate than getting off scot fucking free

The pathologist’s report concluded that Peach was not hit with a standard issue baton, but an unauthorised weapon like a weighted rubber cosh,or a hosepipe filled with lead shot. When Cass’ team investigated the headquarters of the SPG, they found multiple illegal weapons including truncheons, knives, a crowbar, and a whip. 2 SPG officers had altered their appearance by growing or cutting facial hair since the protest, 1 refused to take part in an identity parade, and another was discovered to be a Nazi sympathiser. All of the officers’ uniforms were dry-cleaned before they were presented for examination.

He was killed at the Southall riots in 1979, when the SWP, Anti Nazi League and other left wing motley crews were demonstrating against the BNP who were holding a meeting there. Peach lived at the time just off of London Fields, Hackney, where I was working at the time.
Rather coincidentally, I also worked in Bow at about 2001-03 and had occasion to go into the Central Foundation School for girls. He had been a teacher there during the 70’s and they still had a shrine to him on the occasion when I visited. I have no idea if it is still there or not.

I quite like the idea of a group of thugs in uniform going round smashing protesters heads in. I can't stand protesters. I missed the big match in 1974 because a bunch of bubbles were protesting against the invasion of Cyprus, and my bus was delayed in Grosvenor Place.

Late 80's our lot got an absolute shoeing from a van load of SPG and a couple of motorcycle coppers outside McDonald’s in Southend High Street… bloke on security rung through that there was an emergency … we was lobbing a few chips about … went outside he gave the wink and the 6 of us got the beating of our lives… one of me mates ended up with 4 broken ribs and a fractured skull… he got nicked along with another… found out from one of the flat caps at what the fuck was going on said security had alerted to a riot situation… all calmed down … Old Bill pissed off… 10 mins later we went in and my mate (whose brother had the 4 broken ribs) ironed out the security guard with one punch … that was the last we saw of security guards in McDonald’s for a few years… anyway… SPG.. absolute cunts… football hooligans in uniform… and with 2 foot long truncheons…
